Jamaicans Caring For Jamaicans: Where Purpose Meets Action
“To whom much is given, much is required.” — Luke 12:48...... For every member of Jamaicans Caring For Jamaicans (JCJ), these words are not a slogan, it is our compass. The guiding principle that fuels our commitment to serve Jamaica, the land we love, with compassion, excellence, and unwavering purpose.
How It All Began
Years ago in Jamaica, our President Junior Taylor sat with close friends discussing the needs of the community where they lived and worked. What started as a simple conversation quickly became a shared conviction: they had the ability — and the responsibility — to make meaningful change.
Pooling their skills, resources, and determination, the group decided to support a medical mission in Hanover, Jamaica. It was there that Junior and his friends met Dr. Joseph Dove and Dr. Tony Polk, two compassionate dentists from Memphis, Tennessee. Over several days of serving families and providing much‑needed care, a powerful bond formed — and a vision emerged.
Together, they planned to bring dedicated dental missions to Jamaica. Within a year, the team launched their first mission in St. James, serving over 500 Jamaicans in just two days. What began in 2012 continues today, strengthened by faith, partnership, and purpose.
A New Chapter, Same Commitment
In 2023, when Junior married and relocated to Georgia, his commitment never wavered. He shared his desire to continue serving Jamaica with his wife — already deeply involved in charitable work — and found immediate support. Together, they gathered a group of like‑minded individuals who shared the same heart for service. From that unity, Jamaicans Caring For Jamaicans was formally established as a 501 (c) 3 organization with a seven‑member board based in Duluth, Georgia.
JCJ is more than an organization. It is a movement of people who love Jamaica, honor their calling, and work tirelessly to uplift communities through service, compassion, and action.
